What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KENTUCKY i am in the process of divoricing my wife and she has aquired a large amount of debt over the course and before our marrige and some before we have even been together so since we shared the same bank account after we got married our debt was combined which i knew would haven so now that we are spliting the lawyer my ex has gotten for the both of us (we have the same lawyer because she is not contesting the divorice)said the the best idea would be to file a chapter 13 which would make it that we both would pay off half of the debt but now that we are in the process of filing the ch. 13 the lawyer said that because i make more money then her i have to payy all of the debt mine and hers and she doesnt have to pay any of it so now they are planing to garnish around 1700 dollars a month from my paychecks so i need to know if i am stuck and the lawyer is screwing me with this or if there is a way outWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Your lawyer is “screwing” around with his license to practice law!

For an attorney to even be perceived as counseling, much less representing opposing parties in any legal dispute is a blatant breach of professional ethics. It is difficult to conceive of any greater incident of an attorney engaging in a prohibited conflict of interest.

You should PROMPTLY report the miserable, greedy shyster by filing a formal complaint with the Kentucky State Bar Association and demand restitution of every dime he or she has been paid.

It would be most interesting to watch the blood drain from his face when he opens that letter from the Bar Association.
