Is sampling the sound of an instrument subject to copyright?

What is the name of your state? Alabama
I have a Roland EXR-3 Interactive Arranger (something Roland no longer makes). It is a keyboard with many voices. I like to sample individual instruments from it onto Apple GarageBand so that I may have new instruments to work with, such as a harpsichord. I play a single note and let my phone record it so the sound can be reused in every pitch. Is tone or timbre subject to copyright?

If I am understanding your question correctly, the answer is "No." A single note or tone is not copyrightable.
