Right. With a couple of exceptions, if she's under 18 and you can PROVE paternity, and her father had enough work covered by Social Security, she should be eligible.
Thank you for your responses. I have contacted Dept of Social Security and I have an appt with them on Sept 14. I have the pertinity papers from court and her birth certificate as well. Is there a minimum that she can get? They also told me on the phone they dont like to send checks if they dont have to, They perfer to do direct deposit so I guess that I can do that to her savings account?? She is 13 will be 14 next week.

Most banks have youth savings accounts that can be opened for young children. I believe you can also have the money directly deposited into a cd or mutual fund.

Oh god I hope this all works out for her. This animal hasnt given her a thing since she was born, just the child supoort that he was FORCED tio give up. She deserves this!!!
