Separated from wife over 10 months ago and filed for divorce at that time. (lawyer taking forever, but that's another story) I was living in an apartment for a while, then decided to buy a house because I don't like paying rent. Now, hopefully soon to be "x", wants half of this house. I am already willing to give her everything else, I just need out of this so called marraige. . Does she have any right to this house. Do I have to sell? She is a coniving and manipulative woman. She came to my lawyer's office to make demands. What are my rights and are her demands for this house legal? I am losing trust in my own lawyer because of the amount of time it has taken him to set a court date. Can I change lawyers at this time. Would that jeapodize this house I am currently living in? Please advise.
