Quincy, are you law enforcment or an attorney?
Id really like to hear from someone who knows texas law instead of everyone who is arrested is guilty.

You have heard from both a California police sergeant, and from a Texas attorney here. You should re-read their posts, as they both had some good information for you. I am, however, neither law enforcement nor lawyer, but a mere editor, just a journalist, which is why I hang out in the Libel/Slander/Defamation section generally.

(I do have a masters in media law, but that only means I took some classes with some real live attorneys - I think at the time journalists were one rung above attorneys as being the most hated professionals . . . didn't want to lower myself any farther. )
