I've just recently found out that my landlord has violated our county's zoning ordinances with the construction of my apartment (he remodeled the first floor of his house into a completely separate apartment and has been renting it to me for the past few years), and therefore has been renting the apartment to me illegally. Because of this, is my lease still considered a valid legal and binding contract?

I live in Virginia
