I am the mother of a 14 year old son. I have joint custody with the father of the child. There is a non-bilogical couple that have physical custody of my son. I was informed by my lawyer that there are no NC laws set up for non-bilogical third party interveners. The court figured child support for the father and for me based on the current child support laws for NC. This couple is receiving over $1000.00 a month. I am also responsible for maintaining health insurance and paying 1/2 of any uninsured charges. How do I get a break??? I'm going broke and also have another child at home.
