Yes, if this is stated in your agreement.

Although it is always good to have an attorney, I have went to court pro se a few times and have had no problems. However, my g/f and I have studied up on family law via the net. Also, I have only aksed for things that most judges would not deny a father. When in time that my case is built and I file for custody I will seek legal council. (I actually have an attoreny, and he is the one that lets me know if he need to attend). In asking to have time with your child when the CP is in need of childcare should not be something that you would need an attorney for. Try a few "free consultations" in you area, and see what an attorney says. Good Luck!

Matteberly25: I've read your previous posts, and like I've said before, Kudo's to you for trying to be a good, responsible dad at 16 years of age! You are one of a kind!
Don't think you can do anything about being "first on the list" of caregivers for your daughter until you file something with the courts......especially since the grandparents are so agaisnt you having visitation rights.
Unfortunately, you are a "nobody" until you have established paternity and are given a visitation schedule.

Certainly, if you know someone whose dad is a judge, and he's given you a list of lawyers to call.......call every single one! And if you don't find one who's willing to help you, call on your friend again for another list of names. If you have this kind of resource.....you are at a great advantage.....don't give up!
