What is the name of your state? Az

Is there a way to put a memmo at the bottom of my emails sent to my ex stating that it is confidential and not to be shared with any other person? My ex is sending my emails to my daughter and I would like it to stop.

My response:

No. Once an e-mail, like standard mail, is delivered, it belongs to the recipient.

My response:

That wasn't your original question. Who are "they"? Your original question had to do with YOU writing e-mails to your ex.

Yes I know but if I can't do it then why can they? They would be my ex's attorney and sometimes my ex. Why I get stuff from them it says at the bottom that it is privileged and I cannot share it with anyone. I do not share their attorney - client privelige so why do the emails I get from them say that?

The caveat at the end is for people to whom the e-mail WASN'T directed; e.g., sent to the wrong person. Sometimes that happens - - just like regular mail that's in your mail box, but actually belongs to your neighbor. You don't open your neighbor's misdirected mail, do you? Same concept with e-mail. It's a bit ridiculous, however, because in order to determine that an open-faced e-mail doesn't belong to you, because it was misdirected, you'd need to read it!

But, it does afford the sender a bit of protection, in that, the person to whom the e-mail was misdirected cannot use that information for their own purposes.
