Some girl went into on of my e-mail accounts without my approval, she did not have the password, I do not know how she found out. She fowarded an e-mail from 2004 from my account to hers and changed the date and the year to 2005. This was an old e-mail I had sent to a previous boyfriend about some day we were together back in 2004. He and I broke up in November of 2004. In 2005 I started dating my actual boyfriend. This girl is making my boyfriend and all our friends believe that I cheated on him and lied to everybody. My boyfriend is acusing me of being fake and pretending I had a character that I never did. She doesnt stop talking and I have the original e-mail with the REAL date in my sent items in my yahoo account. If she decides to go on with the lie I feel people are going to start acting different with me. Besides loosing him, which is not bothering me.
Is there anything I can do if she invaded my account and changed tha dates on the e-mail?What is the name of your state?

It is a federal crime to interfere with someone's computer and email and in most states it is also a state crime. It is usually called a computer crime. You can check with your local District Attorney's office and see if they think you have enough evidence for them to prosecute. You have a proof problem, as to how you are going to show that she was the one who invaded your email. However, on the personal side, if you boyfriend doesn't believe you, why do you want him around?
