What is the name of your state?Ky
I hope someone can help. My husband found out his son (who lives in Ky) got a ticket for doing 106 in a 55 (on the interstate). He has only had his license for about 3 weeks. Hubby and ex-wife aren't on speaking terms, so this is the only info we have. I was told by an officer friend that here that would be a felony. Does anyone know if it is in Ky? We are thinking it is and he will automatically lose his license. Any input appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. I also found on a similar site that 18 and under are only allowed 7 points before suspension. This offense would be 6 points alone Also, anything over 26 miles over the limit requires a hearing with possible loss of license (also for under 18). I was just thinking if it was a felony (good grief it was almost double the limit!), that it would be an automatic suspension for minors-especially given the fact that it was 106 miles an hour.

He doesn't need a license! if that is what happens after such a short time, an impression needs to be made, also insurance will go up.

Yeah really. More than 100 in a 55! He shouldn't be driving.

I happen to totally agree. That is why we are trying to find out if they will take his license. We don't WANT him to have it. We have no say in wether his mom takes the car away or not, so all we can hope for is that the state will take his license. I was told that here (in Tn) it would be a felony.
