I've found myself in a bit of an odd situation, and I'm not entirely sure where to proceed from here. I'm hoping someone here will have the benefit of seeing things more clearly than I can, as I'm rather upset, and perhaps offer some advice. (If this is or could be a legal sitation, I'm located in Texas.)

About a month ago, I participated in a large equine event to benefit a charity. I paid a large sum of money and devoted a lot of effort to participate in this event, and unfortunately, management was incredibly bad. To make a long story short, the situation was unsafe, so I ended up leaving early.

Now the person managing the production, angry at my early departure as well as that of some other participants, has posted a page on the event's website with some very unflattering (and very untrue) things about those of us she didn't much like. My section even goes so far as to accuse me of physically assaulting her (interesting - I never touched her or even raised my voice around her) and of having to be escorted off by not one, but two police cars (if there were police cars or officers around the event, I never saw any).

If this were a private website, I wouldn't care. The series of allegations is pretty far-fetched and blatantly untrue about all of us. Unfortunately, this is a website that receives a lot of traffic and is even advertised frequently in all the regional horse publications. I'm also a relatively new equine professional and would just as soon avoid such bad publicity, even if it is false.

I've asked her to remove the statements and received a very nasty reply. My question... where do I go from here?
