What is the name of your state? FL

Do Non-disclosure agreements usually contain wording such as:
he or she will not engage as employer, employee, principal, agent, or otherwise, directly or indirectly, at any time in a similar business, ... he or she agrees not to enter into the employ or service or othewise act in aid of the buisness of any rival company or concernor individual engaged in the same or in similar lines of business. This is the wording that I am concerned about. I am a secretary for a painting company.

That doesn't sound like a nondisclosure agreement -- it sounds like a noncompete. Noncompetes are generally enforceable in Florida, so you might want to talk with an attorney before signing.

Thanks

Thanks for your response. That was what I thought. However I spoke with my employer and the agreed to take out the language that would not let me work as a secretary in the same business.
