I feel like a heel for doing this, but my husband made me do it.I had two attorneys contact me about being interested in my Medical Mal case they both sounded like real good attorneys I didn't want to tell the other no,so my husband sugested that I make copies of my records and send them to both.He is thinking that if one doesn't want to pursue it we still have the other and my statues is gitting close. The attorney I had before had my records for 6 months and told me my case has mirit but he didn't want to risk his money and lose.I think all medical mal cases are a gamble if they don't want to gamble, why take on medical mal?I have learned also not to pick an attorney just because he dose medical mal cases, but to look for a specific type of medical mal that pertains to your case.Such as brain trama, breast cancer, stroke, colon cancer....I had had an attorney who was medical mal but know nothing about my type of cancer this can realy set a person back when it comes to the statues of limitations. So is this appropiate to have two lawyers looking at your case at the same time or am I being a heel. Thanks

If they find out you are lawyer shopping and had a third one both will walk away from you. Attorneys dont like clients who shop around like this. They waste everyone's time and are not easy to work with.

Medical malpractice is usually done on a contingency, where the patient doesn't pay unless the case is won.

If an attorney takes a case, and then does nothing, it could be legal malpractice, which then gets to the issue that if you don't think doctors like to testify against other doctors, try getting a lawyer to testify against another.

You have been here a whopping 2 weeks as an admitted troll. A case having some merit and a case that can be effectively prosecuted are two different animals. While you may ask another attorney to review the case, be sure to let them know who else has reviewed it first and remember that you have to be totally honest with them and does you no good to hide anything because they will find it. It is possible that while you might have a case that has a bad outcome there may not be anything actionable. Law suits are about money, not emotions, fairness or justice. NO medical provider can guarentee a successful outcome or treatemnt without pain or side effects. There may even be some negligence or malpractice but other factors that mitigate it, if justice is your goal, you may always make administrative complaints.

Thanks guys as always good advice! Actually my hubby does give me my shots,he is also my ears since I lost my hearing.I got to thinking about this after I posted and I decided it wouldn't be fair to do.I know lawyers like a cliant who is honest, but what is so ironic to me is that one attorney I talked to told me not to tell another attorney that I talked to him,he said attorneys don't like knowing that another attorney has veiwed the same claim and turned it down.I know someone who had to go through four attorneys at different times of course and evetually found someone to take his case and they won their claim,I believe it was because an optic nerve was cut during a procedure of some sort and he lost his eyesite in an eye.Yes,I do like to troll around but I find alot of these cases to be very sad when you hear what they have lost and what they have been through, others though are kind of bazaar. Thanks again!
