At College I work in an office on campus.
I recently was shown by a fellow student worker something he caught a glimpse of on our boss' computer.
She's currently taking courses to get her Master's Degree --- and wrote a Comm paper about Communication Theory and practically wrote the entire thing about *ME*. She didn't even change my name - and her professor knows who I am.

I don't want to even list her as a job reference after I graduate - but I've worked here for 2 years. I'm known all over campus because I'm also a student leader - the whole paper singles me out as some sort of horrible employee because no one on our staff enjoys working with her recently hired best friend as her second in command who treats us like we're 2 year olds. But I'm singled out, demonized, and lied about.

Can I do anything about this?
She's so fake around me anymore its disgusting, and all I want is to just graduate and get out of here.

:-(
Advice anyone?

You don't know if the draft your employer intends to turn in or show anyone will include your name. There is no libel yet.

In fact, it might have been a criminal act that allowed you to know the contents of your employer's computer, so whatever documents you do have could not be used in any type of lawsuit and if you submitted them as evidence, you might be guilty of a felony.

Also, expect some punishment from the school administration, up to and including expulsion.

The paper went in at the beginning of March.

Our department is very small, and student employees use the computers in the office we work in. My co-worker saw it while she was blatantly working on it with him next to her.

I don't plan on trying to sue her - the woman's got nothing.
It's not worth it.
Just curious as to whether I have any rights to defend my own reputation.
Can someone write about their staff so blatantly without permission like that?
It just seems really wrong. Or I might just be naieve.
