I was employed for 10 years at a catholic grade school in the aftercare program. There was a nasty rumor going around for the last 2 years of my employment that I was having an affair with the principal. Two or three letters were sent to the superintendant and priest, and ultimately, they felt that the only way to stop the rumors were to tell me I had to resign or they would fire me. It was a very mean and visious meeting, threating me that I HAD to resign or my children would not be able to attend the only school they have ever attended. I, with many tears and begging, resigned. There was never any punsihment to the principal, who was included in this false rumor. Can I recover any damages that were created because of this forced resignation?

Now recently, the 16 year old son of one of the people that sent a letter to the superindendant recently posted a reply to a web page that one of the teachers had for a book she recently published. This reply was very NASTY and implimented that the principal ought to go have sex with me more. (in more vulgar language) The comment was on this web site for over 48 hours before we were able to get the company to remove it. Is there any legal action we can take upon this 16 year old, his family or the web site provider?
