What is the name of your state? Kentucky
I have a 20 yr old son who dated a young lady until 6 months ago and they ended the relationship. There have been a few angry words spoken between them since but never anything big..... until now.
The girls mother works as a supervisor at a local power plant, she does not work for the power plant itself, she works for a contractor. (cleaning company) My son was recently hired as a Security officer at that same power plant by a different company completly still a contractor for the power plant.
When the girls mother learned that my son had been hired she was heard saying that she would "see to it" that he lost his job. Last night she filed criminal mischief charges with the local sheriff on my son.
Her story is that my son attempted to "egg" her daughters vehicle and ended up hitting the vehicle of a guest of their home.
My son will have to face these charges in court and I have spoke to the prosecuting attorney as well as the sheriff and they have assured me that this will go no where... but he still has the summons and has to appear and they we will be able to prove his innocence because he was working the night they said it happened.
I am not worried about my son at this time because the mother did not properly do her homework and picked a night he was on the clock at work. My concern is that this will not stop....
My son will be off work until his name is cleared, without pay, and may still loose his position because the mother has "pull" due to her supervisor position at the power plant.
I just want to help my son keep this job, and stop this harrassment, and the only way I know to do that is to fight fire with fire and press defamation or slander charges against her so that the courts and his workplace will be aware of this womans antics. But I am not sure I have grounds for such a charge.
Any advice?
Dee
