Hello From Florida,
I have a question regarding an individual that I feel is being payed more than others holding the same position and even others holding a higher postion, such as myself. Seniority is not a factor in this,as salaries are not determined based on it.The individual carries out the duties of this postion (he is a produce inspector) but technically is "classified" as having another position (a buyer)which he was but has been moved into the produce inspector's position at his request...."he was tired of the headaches involved with the buyers' position" The buyer position does have a significantly higher salary which he is still receiving because of what I feel is favoritsm. He has been with the company for more than 20 years. This position he now holds(produce inspector) requires that he punch the clock...he does NOT.In other words...the postion has been altered to better suit his needs. I have further details and other issies with this company I would like to discuss. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this and would like to discuss the other matters I have concerns about.I work for Winn Dixie Stores,Inc. Thanks for the long read.

Unless you are a member of a Union, and in some cases even if you are, the employer basically has the right to manage and direct his workforce anyway he wishes so long as he does not violate any laws. This employee has been with the Company for 20 years you say. Well, perhaps he is valuable to them, dependable, or they have a feeling of loyalty to him for his many years of service (perhaps 1 company out of many might). Whatever the reason, you should just focus on you. Do your job to the best of your ability and pay attention to yourself. You stick your nose in someone else's business, you will either drive yourself crazy, become extremely unhappy, develop a bad attitude which will affect your job performance, or lose your job. Unless you are the manager of this employee or this employee affects your job in some company-negative way, it just is none of your business what he or the employer does.
