What is the name of your state?California

Is it legal for a former employer to forbid you from doing business in their place of employment? I left employer (didn't want to join the union) and was later told that I was not allowed to shop there. It's a chain store and I was told by a manager that they thought I was a thief and that I was not welcome there. Because it's part of a chain-I'm not sure they can do this without legal proof of any wrongdoing. Can they?

**A: we all know that there is a lot more to this story. Shop (make trouble) elsewhere.

so glad i could count on such DEEP thinkers-i simply asked if what they were doing was legal-regardless of whether i shared the "rest of the story" (thank you Paul Harvey) If you don't want to assist in forums-express your opinions elsewhere!

A store has the right to refuse service to anybody that they choose, regardless of wether that person has done anything. If they suspect you of being a theif, the may tell you not to enter the store, or be arrested for trespassing.
