What is the name of your state? MN, but the questionable act is in CA

Can you peruse this website and tell me if this is legal. It is a case of a private party posting a document on her website that was issued by a hospital. It is in regards to a third party (named in the document) that did not give consent to the publication.

It is at trinakenneyhorses.com

under "alerts"

Thanks for your help as it is an interesting topic....It is a medical document so is the third party's information to be subject to those regulations(HIPPA)? Yet it was released to an individual....I am leaning towards it being a case of libel/slander as there is an ongoing lawsuit between the parties...but would appreciate any insight.

No, but you can.

It certainly is not HIPPA unless you want to give the full story.

libel/slander/horse

I guess I was thinking it was libel because it was posted to be harmful. Also it is clearly not a "public service" because the only individuals "at risk" are those listed...not the general public, although you could argue against that.

Even if the document is true, it is not a public document...I guess that is where I am hung up on this.

I do know the full story... you can follow most of it at:

It is a mess really...but being a RN, studying legal nurse consutling, the grey area of this topic intrigued me.
