What is the name of your state? MA

This stems from an SSDI (disability) issue.

1) How can a person receive SSDI who is truly disabled but has assets such as 'a for profit business' worth about $180,000 - also grosses about $180,000 per year and '4 fairly new vehicles' in their name, plus a good amount of 'cash in the bank'? Did they have to finagle the bagel so to speak in order to get past this?

2) If a fund raiser is established and takes in $200,000 for this disabled person, (the money is turned over to the disabled person) is this something that must be reported to SS Disability as income?

This disabled person also has 2 separate income producing properties in their name.

I really need an answer to these questions as I am seeing this go on but thought this was not allowed for SS Disability.

Thanks for any help.

SSDI and SSi or different programs. On SSDI you can have a as many assets. SSI has a cap.
