What is the name of your state? Florida

A woman that I have met only twice both being at family function and is also a registered nurse with a local hospital has posted some untrue and partial truths about myself and my minor child. The end result of her email caused some sponsers to pull from a fund raising event organized for my minor child and we are unsure of how many people did not show up as a result of this mass mailed emailed. I am aware of one entire organization that advised everyone not to go. Is there anything that I can do?

reply to slander

To me at this point of the game it is not a matter of money. What I need I will get in someway shape or form. What I would like to see his her nursing license yanked, a formal letter of apology published in the local papers, and to the news team that she brought it to, and to Department of Children & Families that investigated as well as a monetay damages against her and as much as I can get even if I can never collect it.

There are thousands of posts similar to yours so I have prepared a standard answer:

Get a lawyer.

Invest $20K and three years.

Sue the bad people for defamation.

If you win, expect them to keep doing it.

If you lose, expect them to keep doing it.

Stand by for other opinions.

It is not a point of money??? and yet the whole situation involves a fund raising event for your child??? call me skeptical !

Skeptical

I thought that you were here for legal advise. Do not be skeptical until you are willing to see all the documentation involved. If skeptisism is what you have and you cared an ounce about hippa violations as well as slander then you would either take the case at a reduced fee or refer me to someone who would as there are bigger fish to fry here than just one person....and I think that if you were really any good at what you do you would see this....HIPPA can only be brought into play if the woman obtained her knowledge from the hospital....there is no liabilility insurance mandated for doctors or nurses to carry for such violations....although I am aware that a case of this magnitude would require years and most likely hundreds if not thousands of dollars to pursue....your name would be on it...and the publicity that you could obtain if the right PR person were working with you would bring you more than my little case ever could take. Thanks for your lack of advise, once again ignorance in our world wins. And for a nation as great as ours that is sad.

You want some person to front thousands of dollars and hundreds, if not thousands, of hours in their chosen profession over years because you think the case is interesting enough to get on the news?

There has been no lack of advice. The ignorance is, however, showing.

Edited to make sense: Sorry I have $125,000.00 in student loans to pay and you do NOT have the damages necessary for slander per quod.

Sounds more to me like its about revenge. I would be interesting in hearing what she posted about you. I noticed that you used the term partial truth. Stating the truth with ones opinion isnt libel its freedom of speech.

If you want a valid answer, then state valid facts. You have stated nothing whatsoever for which an action under law can be pursued successfully.
