What is the name of your state? PA
An old landlord who feels I owe him money emailed a general email acct. at my company. This is what was in the Email:
I had a tenant, Judo Tom, that owes me over $3000. I have a letter to him, from JUDO TOMS BOSS, on this companies letterhead. I am trying to contact him, but have not been successful. I plan on giving this companies information to the magistrate if I can not contact him personally. Please forward this to him.
JUDO TOM you need to call me at 555-555-5555.......
thanks for your assistance and sorry for any inconvience.
He does have a cell # of mine and we have talked for months about this.
I had told him not to contact me at work about this. I had told him that I feel that there is no debt between us. I told him many times I was done negotiating and that I would not pay HIM ANY MONEY.
As soon as I recieved the email I called the number and just said to never contact me at work regarding this matter and that you have my cell # if you need to reach me.
If he ever took this to court the worst case scenario for me would be perhaps 200-300 dollars but there is almost no chance of that happening and most likely the judge will agree that I do not owe him money.
What should I do? If he tries to take me to court does this email or how i responded help or hurt in anyway.
should I have the company document this in anyway?
Thanks
edit: I also wanted to say that a few depts now know of this.. i had to go talk to my boss the hr supervisor and the customer service rep who got this.
