What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN
My friend called me today and said on the 25th of november he was talkin with some people at wal-mart and left on his way home, well he was followed by a narcotic officer in his personal vehicle and later pulled over, well they asked to search and he told them they had no cause to search, the narcotic officer said either we search or you go to jail..so he gave consent...they found (1) joint in the ash tray the narcotic officer said that if he did something for him this would go away....my friend got no charge,ticket ANYTHING that night and the officer said he had until today to make up his mind, and if he didnt do it then he was going to seize his vehicle and swear out a warrant for him.....so my buddy called him today said he wasnt going to do any "work" for him,officer asked when is your court date...friend said i dont have one and the officer replied ill make sure you have one..
My question is, is it possible for charges to be filed on him after the fact??
