What is the name of your state? Ohio

My ex gf who lives in Hopewell, PA went to her local police station and filed a claim of harassment against me. I had emailed her approx. 7 times, called her home approx 5 times and workplace approx 6 times between the dates of 4/8/05 and 5/21/05. I was never lewd, threatening, profane or even impolite in any of these communications and several were in direct response to her own responses, though she had asked me to stop contacting her. My concern is this: The police officer I spoke with told me that I am NOT being charged with anything that I was only being notified of the complaint and being warned to discontinue my efforts to contact this woman. If a complaint has been filed but charges not pressed would this show up on my records. I am a teacher and should a charge show up on my record I could lose my job. If this does show up on my record and I have to go to court to fight it, am I right that I have committed no crime and would I have grounds for defamation having been falsely accused? Also.... I am concerned that the next time I travel through Pittsburgh (Hopewell is a suburb) that should she see my car I could be charged though I am making no effort to see/contact her and will not. I do not feel that I should be exiled from the nearest real city to where I live due to her gross overreaction. (If she were not prone to gross overreaction, I would never have had a conversation with the police in the first place.) I would appreciate any advice on my options for clearing my records and being able to go to Pittsburgh without worrying for the next week that she may have spotted my car and being arrested. Thank you.

No, you would not have a case of defamation. You made 18 attempts to contact her when you'd been told not to; what makes you think you were wrongly accused?

I agree...this is a gross over-reaction and, if you do not stop it, you will probably go to jail.
