A friend of mine is married to the brother of a man who I used to be friends with. His wife has always been jealous of me even though I haven't spoken with her husband in years. She constantly says things about me like that I stalked her husband back then, and that I tried to get him into legal trouble. None of these accusations are true, she is just trying to ruin my good name. Can I sue her for slander?

Yeah, I love how people come here with indignation in their posts, but they're as poor as trailer trash. But, they want answers anyway, which they can't afford to utilize, causing us to go through all sorts of mental masturbation for them.

I know. And for some reason, a lot of them are claiming that they have been slandered/libeled, or 'I was only doing 50 in a 25.... how do I beat this ticket', or 'how do I get my boyfriend out of prison?'.
Yet, none of them could scounge together two nickels.

What are the rule of evidence because I am the plaintiff, I couldn't find an attorney to take my case because there was no injury and now that I filed a lawsuit, I don't know how to answer the defendents attorney, can you help me?

Then by all means, ask them your question if they are going to represent you, remember the defense to slander is the truth. So if what the person is saying is true, jealous or not, then they are not slandering you. It doesn't matter if years ago you stalked someone or got them into trouble, if it is true, it is not slander. Now do you want your employers to know you were stalking someone?
