What is the name of your state? Texas

I am writing because I received a letter from my 7years old school stating he would be suspend because he refused to do class work....but the funny thing is that the suspension letter states....

Prior to the decision to suspend, I met with**** and explained the charges of misconduct. He was given an opportunity to respond to these "charges".

If I did not know better, I thought if he is a minor and if there were any type of charges against him wouldn't I have the right to be there since he can't defend himself due to age. I would think the word "charges" is the wrong word for use, school is not a court is it? and the Principal is not a Judge is he? Please help I need to know should I persue this b/c my son is 7 this letter will be in his school file althrough his school years.

Oh my god! This is going to go on his permanent record you know! Why are you wasting time posting here when you need to get down to the school in person and speak to the principal? He's (she's?) certainly going to want to know where your son gets his irrational behavior from and I think you being there in person will be the only way to clear that up.

Good luck.

Q: I would think the word "charges" is the wrong word for use, school is not a court is it?

A: Why do you think this and what word would you use to describe your son's behavior?

To answer your question seniorjudge...I would think the correct word to use would be ...ACTIONS...it should read like this.

Prior to the decision to suspend, I met with**** and explained the consequences of misconduct. He was given an opportunity to respond to these "actions".

Well the school is currently on Spring Break but trust that I will be there the day they return I will not show irrational behavior....because I think thats what they would want... :)

This is going to go on his permanent school record you know! Meaning if I ever wanted to withdraw him from this school this will be sent to the next school and you know what cycle this can start "Oh my goodness".. We have a BAD 1 coming....

To to describe my son's behavior? He's 7 years old and really what this is he's a normal 7year old. nothing more nothing less.

Thanks
