I recently put up a message on a message board about a company. The company paid me with a bad check. In the message I stated that this company paid me with a bad check. They contacted me and said it was their bank's fault. Now I think they may want to sue me for slander or defamation. Is truth a defense. I was not lying and was trying to help others.
Thanks

My response:

You're going to be just fine. You told the truth - - the check was bad. That's the final analysis. The reason for it being bad is none of your concern, and not for you to research - - the fact remains that you were the "holder in due course" and the check was rubber. If they have a beef, they can sue their bank. You're off the hook.
