yes i would like to no they made a decision on my son appeal the decision the judgement was affirmed in part; sentence vacated and remanded for resentencing what do all this mean thank you

I am assuming you are talking about a criminal case.

What happened was that part of the judgment was upheld by the higher court. Probably that means that they think he's guilty too, just like the lower court did.

Some way or the other, the sentence was unlawful.

Therefore, the trial court will have to re-sentence him according to some guideline or law that the court didn't use the first time.
