What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MD

I purchased a television from Circuit City in September 2006 along with a 5 year warranty. On December 29, 2008 I contacted the warranty company because the t.v.'s picture suddenly went very dark. Three days later they sent a repair technician out to assess the problem which came back that the repair cost is more than the worth of the television. On January 23rd Circuit City informs me that my warranty is no longer covered by the current warranty company but the contract has now been transfered to another warranty company. Coincidently this was also the same day they received the report from the repair technician that the damages exceeded the value of the t.v. They further explained to me that I would need to began the entire process over with the new warranty company. The problem is the current warranty company does not have a number that accepts phone calls. When you call the number it just states to fax or mail your request in. I've faxed them several times since January 23 and have not received any response. It's gone on 7 weeks now since my television started having problems and the screen is almost completely black.

Am I in a hopeless situation or is there anything I can do to get my television fixed aside from purchasing another one?

Now you know why Circuit City has gone out of business.
What company now holds your warranty now. If it is ASSURANT they have special toll-free numbers for the Circuit City refugees.

That is the number of the warranty company that was initially handling the warranty until they transfered it to NPCC on January 23rd. The new company's only way of contact is through fax or mail. Thanks for your assistance though.

The company is called National Product Care Company.
OUCH... I googled that and it looks like Circuit City screwed all their warranty buying customers by choosing this company...

Anyhow... The first link from Google's results will take you to this multi-page document

http://images.amazon.com/media/i3d/01/B0000VYJAQ00000.pdf

which does have a bunch of different numbers throughout it.

Take a few minutes and do some finger walking... Maybe you'll get a number that works!

Good luck!!!
