It turns out that my teacher is a D.A

What is the name of your state? California

anyways im in sociology class at a university, and so it turns out that my teacher is a D.A now i did not know this till today. So anyways, heres what happened all of a sudden i spitted out that i heard that my employer does not have a lot of female co-workers because he is afraid that a sexual discrimination lawsuit might arise from him doing this, now when i said this the teacher got all up on my butt and start questioning me who this employer was because that is illegal what he is doing and i told everything except for the guys name. Now according to my classmates she is going to run an investigation on him. So then i got all scared and stuff that i might loose my job or worse i get dragged into this so i asked the teacher straight out what was going to happen she said nothing so now im still stuck here wondering if she is going to do something about it.

honestly i dont care what happens to the employer i just dont want to get dragged into any of this.

So the question is can an employer get a lawsuit for not having so many or if any female employees working for him.

1. There's no such word as "anyways."

2. District Attorneys do not investigate and prosecute rumored violations of employment laws. That is up to each State's equal rights division and the federal EEOC. District attorneys prosecute violations of criminal laws. I can't imagine what your teacher is talking about.

But, the answer to your question is yes. IF an employer is deliberately refusing to hire women (and it's not just coincidence that on the last several hires, the most qualified person was a man) then they can most definitely get into trouble. It's called gender discrimination and is a violation of Federal law and the laws of 46 out of 50 states. Your state is not one of the exceptions. That investigation, however, would be carried out by the EEOC or the state's civil rights commission, NOT by the DA's office.

YOU are not in any trouble. Even if something does come of this (which I question) it is also a violation of the law to take any adverse action against the person who brings the violation to the attention of the authorities. If your employer were to fire you because of this, you would be able to sue him for wrongful termination.

thanks, and to that person who said very sad, very sad i have no idea what u are talking about cuz i thought my response was going to stay in the classroom and not be made a big fuzz about like the teacher a.ka D.A did.

Let me explain what IAAL was referring to in his post in another way, that you might understand.

YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR ARE ATROCIOUS! If you expect to finish college, I hope you have a good spell/grammar check on whatever typing program you use on your PC.

Here are some examples from your post:

"anyways" --as BB said, this is not a word which exists in the English language.

"im" --this is a shortened version of I AM, a contraction, so you need an apostrophe as in I'm, the I should also be capitalized!

" is a D.A now i did not know this till today. " --A comma here between D.A. and now would be appropriate, in order to separate the thoughts in the sentence.

"heres" --Once again, this is a contraction for HERE IS, so the proper way to write it would be here's.

"spitted" --this is also not a word in the English language, the proper past tense form would be spit. (Okay, so you can get away with it in the occasional redneck joke, as in "I spitted that thar pig and roasted him!")

"i" --I should always be capitalized.

"loose" -- this refers to a garment that doesn't fit snugly, you are afraid to LOSE your job.

I think that is enough, you get the point. There are myriad other errors, but you will be better off to discover some of them on your own.
