I sold a laptop computer throught craigslist last friday Oct 14,2016. The agreement for the sale was 600 dollars, 400 to be paid on the 14th and a promise to pay the remaining 200 the following Friday the 15th of October, 2016. I have the entire discussion and agreement to pay on those terms via email. I also took a picture of the buyers drivers license and license plate to his car the day we exchanged the initial 400 for the laptop.

Now I can't get him to pay me the remaing balance and don't know how to proceed.

Sue the bad person in small claims court in his home state (assuming you're in the US).

Next time, do not turn over the goods until you are paid in full.

I know but I was and still am in serious financial dire straights so I made a real bad mo ent of judgement to help ease the load that I am going through right now. But I did consider the repercussions thats why I insisted on the picture of his DL and of the tag on his car. Lesson learned...i hope. Can I sue him for legal costs as well?

What is the name of your state, testingtony? Is the purchaser in the same state (a local buyer)? Small claims courts operate a bit differently depending on the state/states involved.
