What is the name of your state? MD

I sure wish I found these boards years ago. About 2 years ago I found myself with my first job and of course my first credit cards (Bank of America, Capital One, Discover, etc,.). Needless to say, like most youngsters at the time I thought I had it under control. I didn't and I found myself not being able to pay the minimums. I joined Ameridebt. A year passed but I saw no change in my status. Stilled owed a total of $14k to the credit card companies.

So I left Ameridebt and tried making payments on my own and soon fell behind making inconsistent payments. Finally I just gave up and its been 3 months since I've made any payments. Creditors call every day and they want a huge lump sum that I can't afford. They yell and I yell, finally there is a akward silence and a disconnect. The script repeats itself daily.

Can anyone inform me of what I can expect in the coming months and if there is anything I can do?

Well, quit yelling ;) You won't get anywhere that way and unless you have some way to come up with the money they want to bring your account current, its really quite pointless to talk to them at all. If its only been 3 months since you stopped paying then you should now be eligible for a hardship program, so you might try asking about that first. If you still can't make that, then when the account gets charged-off at 6 months of non-payment, then you'll have collection agencies to deal with. Discover will sue you at the drop of a hat, and Crap1 won't be far behind.

Have you considered getting a 2nd job to make the payments ??
