my question is...my friend is legally separated from his wife, (4months)
they have a 1 year old daughter and no custody has been determined yet. the wife will barely let him see the child. and in the last 2 weeks he has not seen her at all because the wife disappeared.(she doesn't have a job) he did some homework for about a week and tracked her down only to find that she had packed all the childs clothes with the intent to leave the state without telling him. please tell me there is something that he can do!!!! she was abusive to him but for some reason the law is always on the womens side.

Tell your friend to get his butt to court to file for a temporary custody order pende lite. He must do this immediately. He may not get his motion granted, but until they divorce, he can have the courts set up some sort of visitation schedule. And tell him to find an attorney pronto. Until he retains one, he can at least get the paperwork started.

And yes the woman seems to get away with everything in the courts. Why, I still don't know. Men who don't pay child support end up with suspended licenses and in jail. Yet mom's who deny father's visitation get little slaps on the wrist. Go figure.
