What is the name of your state? MA

I was in a long distance relationship with a man for almost two years, before finding out that he in fact had a fiance. I cut off the relationship, but in between discovered that he was sleeping around and often trolled personals dating sites. I decided to post his information and details of his infidelity on several of those sites, and he has found out about them. He's now threatened that I will "hear from his lawyer" if I don't delete the posts.

Does he have a case against me? If what I posted was fact, can I still get hit with something else, like malice? Any advice?

As long as you can prove what you're saying, you have nothing to worry about.

If you have absolutely nothing to backup your claims, you might end facing a libel suit.

Even if everything you are saying about this fellow is true, if he recognizes himself or has been identified on these sites, he can sue you for libel - and you can still spend a lot of time and money defending yourself against such a suit.

A man who was "featured" on the Don'tDateHimGirl site recently brought suit against four females who posted on the site. It doesn't really matter if what they posted was true or not if he has the money to spend on the suit - these women still must defend themselves in court, and this is costly. Truth is a complete defense against libel, and you cannot be held liable for posting opinions, but these defenses only work IN court - not to prevent a court suit.

If I were you, I would delete the posts and hope he doesn't sue.
