What is the name of your state? Maryland

I don't know if i put this question under the right category, but i hope someone can help me out. I am 17 years old. I wil be 18 in feb of next year. I have already gotten my GED. I am currently working at a family business. My boyfriend (22) just moved to Mississippi. I want to go live with him and work down there to save up money for college. My mom won't let me go. I was told my a few people that after you've reached the age of 17 if you are reported missing or considered a runaway the police can't make you come home. Is that true? If I can't runaway I would like to be emancipated, but Im not sure what I would have to do, or what my chances would be.
plz help

You cannot run away and you cannot be emancipated. To become emancipated you have to be able to support yourself fully.

Also, even if you begin the emancipation process now the court may not get to it until after you turn 18.

Stay put. You only have about 7 months and then you can leave.

Stupid is as stupid does, hon. Are you bright enough to support yourself if you can't read the answers to your questions??

http://www.djs.state.md.us/faq.html#faq001 this may give you better answers regarding emancipation. or, this is your answer, NO. Apparently, the state of Maryland does not have a youth emancipation act, except in very specific cases.
