I live in Delaware, I entered the country on a j-1 visa which expired at the end of last year. I got married to a US citizen, and applied for permanent residence. my application was rejected because my visa had a 2 year residency requirement. I have to apply for a waiver but i don't know if I would get it, and I don't know what to do if the waiver will be rejected.

If you can't get the no objection waiver, you will have to spend 2 years in your home country before you can immigrate to the US.
