boyfriend of 10 yrs walks out after i helped him through school. he said we would get married after he finished. i had credit cards and had them give him one in his name for his use when needed. he left me $15,000.00 in credit card debt. is this not subject to statute of fraud under promises made in consideration of marriage? he also took some of my furniture.

depending in the state that you live in and if you live together for those 10yrs. key factors of your case would be Joint bank accounts, joint on leese or mortage. Joint on car. But it all really depends on the state. You should call a family law attorney and set up a free consultation. Good Luck
