State of Virginia:
Back in the early 70’s I had cancer and was placed on disability for a number of years. Shortly be for being taken off disability I hurt my back. I have been cancer free for over 30 years. And after the back operation I have not had any problems either. I have been gainfully employed ever since.
When I was taken off I started to seek employment. I put in an application at the local hospital. Back in the 80’s I was told never to come back because I had filled out the application incorrectly. I know this is incorrect. Since then I have worked several places as well as for FEMA as a police officer for the last 12 years. While with the FEMA police I did decline to go to police academy because there could be a slight chance I could re-hurt by back. So I was grand fathered in to the police series.
I recently quit my job with FEMA police because of a strong disagreement. I felt put my safety at stake.
Question I assume my application is still on file with the hospital. I am going to reapply for a job as driver that I have seen advertised.
If they reject me can I sue them for job discrimination?
