Thought I'd post this under the Domestic Violence forum, but I'll try here. Question regards Bond, Security, Stock Brokers, etc. Specifically, the NASD Series 6 License (and any other comparable licensing within this profession) - and the effect the entry of a civil protection order has, if entered against a licensee.
Many defendant's in protection order civil proceedings bring up the issue that a protection (restraining) order jeopardizes their job security. While some professions may be jeopardized by the 'entry' of this order, most may only be at risk if/when the defendant violates the order, thereby becoming a criminal matter.
There was case involving a broker/defendant at a final hearing for a protective order. One of the tactics used (on the day of the hearing) to dissuade the victim/plaintiff was that he could lose his job and/or his "Series 6 License", if the petition was not withdrawn and an order was entered by the court. It was a case with extreme violence, but alas, it was withdrawn by the plaintiff to protect the defendant.
Is, in fact, the entry of a civil protection order an issue with respect to losing one's broker/security licenses or application for one?
