What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Missouri ~
After my Dad passed away, My Mom placed me on her checking and savings accounts (joint accounts) I am also listed on the safety deposit box.
When she added me to the safety deposit box, she expressly told me upon her death to immediately empty the safety deposit box and move the contents to a new box at my own bank.

For whatever reason, she has chosen to "not" include these accounts into her Trust.
I am the Executor of her Estate and am the designated person for POA though that is not in effect as of yet.
As to her Trust, all of her investments, except the IRAs, are included in the Trust.
The Beneficiaries of her Trust are me and my siblings (a total of six people) divided equally.
I have good family relationships with my brother and sisters, so it isn't a matter keeping anything for myself. She never told me the holdings were mine.
I am more interested in what the legal position of these accounts are upon her death with me as the legal, joint account holder.

Almost certainly, the joint ownership carries with right of survivorship and you would become the sole owner upon Mother's death.

Ask the financial institution to be certain.
