what specific types of decisions must the custodial parent consult with the non-custodial parent in ny? surely, at some level the custodial parent is capable of making decisions, without being controlled by the nc parent.:confused:

It should be listed in your divorce decree (at least it is in Texas) if you already have one. If not, check the Family Code in your state (most are online now) for joint legal. As an example most states consider legal decisions to be those such as, consent to marriage, consent to military service, invasive surgical procedures, etc. So, can you decide if the child has Nike's or Reeboks without consent... sure. Can you decide if the child should have plastic surgery to fix their nose... probably not. Is there something in particular that you are questioning?
