Two questions please:
1. Do I lose joint ownership of a house in US if I leave the job and return to home country?

2. For buying the property in US, does one need social security number? If it is required, and if only I (one of the joint owners mentioned on the deed) have the number (and the other one does not), does it mean I am the PRIMARY owner?

1. No
2. No. SS# or FID # are used for IRS purposes and has nothing to do with joint ownership.

You need to talk to an attorney as I sense that there are more issues that you are dealing with.
