What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MARYLAND

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I'm unfortunately not clear on how to write and file a joint pretrial statement for custody/child support of my son.

I am the plaintiff and my son's father and I haven't been together since 2010.

I just need help and if anyone needs details, let me know exactly what you need. My son's father, myself and my current boyfriend aren't quite sure on how to write up one. Unfortunately, the court clerk hasn't been of much help.

We cannot do that for you, and neither can the court clerk. You'll have to hire an attorney or find something online to copy.

Actually, yes he is relevant. The magistrate informed me that because my boyfriend and myself are the main caregivers, my son's father does have to pay child support. My boyfriend and I are on all of my son's legal papers, medical forms and school forms. My son's father has not wanted to participate in that. Are you a lawyer stealth??? Anyway, I understand no one can walk me through a pretrial statement on here, but I haven't had any luck looking online for a simple outline. Is it best to meet with my lawyer for a step by step??

I think you seriously misunderstood what you were told. You boyfriend has NO legal standing. He can be listed on medical and school forms, but not as the "father". He's also not a party to any legal matters.

So every guy you are living with is going to be a "legal party" in your child's life?

Yes. You should discuss this with your attorney.

And as clarified - your b/f is legally a third party, and not part of the court proceedings between you and the kids' Dad. And therefore, irrelevant.

No, not at all. We've been together since my son was a baby. I'm not that kind of mother. I suppose I did misunderstand the legal representation of my boyfriend.

I know nothing about legal papers, terms, etc....so I came on here to ask for advice...not be bashed by a lawyer who is supposed to be on here to help. I did misunderstand the magistrate telling me that because my boyfriend and the state re supporting me and my child, his father has to pay child support. I should have asked for clarification. It was my firate time being in a court room for anything. Sorry for asking for help

Trying googling "stipulated custody agreement" instead of "joint pretrial statement".

Okay, sweetpea. When you registered for this site, there were terms of service that you agreed to. If you had bothered to read them, you'd know that most of the people here are (a) volunteers and (b) not lawyers. Yes, we are here to help, and we give pour time freely. But we also expect posters to do as we did and do some research to help themselves.
