i have found out since my civil suit started that the judge hearing the case is a freind of the person bring suit against me...the judge is also close friends with the family...is there anything i can do now that the case has started....thanks

My response:

Yes. Write and file a Motion with the court, with your declaration and Points and Authorities based upon these newly discovered facts, to have the judge "recuse" himself from sitting on your case.

Besides the other parties involved, also, serve a copy upon the Presiding Judge of the courthouse.
