What is the name of your state? Indiana
I am in the process of a long divorce. Have a prenup, Have property. A year and a half later still no conclusion.T he judge made the comment to both attorneys that he does not want to rule on this case. Reason being I live in a small town, married to a State Trooper and the judge said he does not want to listen to the Trooper whine for the next 20 years. So 13,000.00 later in attorney fees for me I am almost broke and still married. My spouse is in the home with all property bought during marriage and here I sit. Can I ask for a new judge, what should I do. They are also arguing over the prenup since property was deeded to me the wife... I need help!!!

If you can prove that, then you need to file a motion for a new trial. If your lawyer has let this drag on for 1 1/2 years, then you need a new lawyer.

How do I prove it when it was spoken to my attorney and his. I have not even had a final hearing. This was spoken in pretrial conference with the attorneys and the judge. My attorney told me this. If I get another attorney then will all the motions and everything have to be refiled. Will I start from scratch..

You can't.

This judge and many other judges want the attorney's to reach settlement out of court for various reasons.

As difficult as it may be, it would probably be in your best interest to play ball the judges way and settle out of court.

Judges have enormous discretionary power in these matters.

No you don't have to start all over. However, you will have to pay a new retainer and you will have to pay for the new attorney to get up to speed. Do the numbers, you may save money in the long run.
