What is the name of your state? FLorida

I have a judgement against me. It started in 1997. I was paying towards it for a while, then I got pregnant. I haven't paid in like 2 years. I don't work anymore, so the only income we have is my husbands and it's not the best.

I just received a letter that they want a deposition from me. I don't want to take my son to this and I have no one to watch him. What can they do to me? I have no income, so will they take my husband's? Can they make me go to this deposition? If you can help in anyway, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Sara

Start with getting a court order for you to comply.
Then, when you still refuse, request the court issue a contemp warrant for your ARREST.
Then, the sheriff will come on out and test-fit you for some new bracelets and then transport you to the county jail, where you will sit for a few days, or until you agree to remove your contempt.... by answering the judgment creditors questions.

I have no income, so will they take my husband's?
Yes and no. What the judgment creditor COULD do is to seize any bank accounts in your name (even joint accounts). It would then be up to your husband to file a "Motion for Exemption" and schedule a hearing at court. He will then have the opportunity to try to prove to the court that the seized funds should be exempted and returned.

Can they make me go to this deposition?
Your choice... go or face possible arrest for contempt of court.

Thanks for responding. I got this letter from my mom. It was sent to her house and not mine and they don't even know I got it.

Great. Then you get to argue that point when the arresting officers take you before the judge and he/she asks if your are willing to comply with the lawful request for post-judgment information.
