wa. state. i recently received a judgement by default from the plantiffs attorney for garnashee. i had hired an attorney to represent me as defendent.he sent plantiff attorney a notice of appearance on my behalf and asked that all notices and correspondence be sent to him. my attorney was never informed to appear on my behalf in court, and so naturally the plantiff got the judgement. do i have any recourse on this since the plantiffs attorney simply ignored the fact that i had an attorney ? also after the judgement they sent me the paperwork, so needless to say my attorney was shocked to hear the news.

It sounds to me like you might be hearing two different versions. Stop by the original court and take a look at the casefile. It will show all filings and notices and who they were sent to. Once you assure yourself that the facts are as presented, then you can decide your next step, which could be anything from accepting the judgment to asking that the judgment be set aside. But first, you need to get the facts of the case.
