Can you please tell me in the state of New Jersey if a judgement was put on me would they try to garnish my check and put a lien on my house or will it just be one or the other? And if a lien is placed on my home can they force me to sell it? If there is any information that may be pertinent to these questions that you feel is important for me to know, please feel free to add in your response. Thanks for your information.

You have a judgment against you. In New Jersey, the judgment creditor can:

1) Garnish up to 10% of your weekly wages over $142.50.
2) Collect interest on the unpaid judgment, costs and fees, from judgment date until paid. Interest rate is variable and is shown in the judgment.
3) Sieze any non-exempt personal assets.
