I was in an accident a few years ago. I did not have insurance at that time. The lawyer has a judgement for the damages. I did make some payments but stopped July of 98
My question is the lawyer has just written me after no contact for over 2 years and is wanting payments on this. Is their a limition on the time he has to pursue this or is it good forever. how could it effect me if I do not pay

My response:

A judgment is good for up to 20 (Twenty) years from the date the order of judgment is signed by the judge.

If you fail to pay, expect writs of execution against bank accounts, personal property, real estate, and wage garnishments.
